Introduction
In recognition of the 1986 World Cup Games being held in Mexico the Mexico City Mint issued a special one year circulating commemorative to honor the occasion.
Design
The obverse design features the Mexican coat of arms, an eagle clutching a snake while it perches on a prickly pear cactus. In an arc around the design is the phrase “ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS” or United Mexican States.
The reverse design features three players in action with the phrase "COPA MUNDIAL DE FUTBOL" or WORLD CUP FOOTBALL above. To the far right is the mint mark "Mo" for the Mexico City Mint and to to left is the denomination "$200". Below the design is the phrase "MEXICO 86".
