I was trying to search for more information on this coin which is part of my collection but could not find any. I saw some Mexico 1759s 8 reales with Assayer "MM", "R" or "MF" but none with "P" I wonder if anyone here can help me out.

My library dates back to only the 1800's for international coins but I will help with searching. What I have found so far is that there was an e-bay counterfeit article for 1762 issues with an assayer mark "P" but is extremely rare and often faked or counterfeited. Not sure if this relates to your coin but is the closest year (but not the same ruler) I could find.

Also discovered there was an assayer from Guatemala that used P from around that time, not sure if it is the same but a footnote in any case. I'll keep digging :)

Haven't found anything yet but you also might want to post at Coin Community. There are a couple of members there that actively collect these coins. I put the forum link below. If memory serves me correctly there was a member there under the handle of swamperbob that was the answer man of coins from this era.
